The Challenge
Loomaama came to Ivara Innovation as a concept — a founder’s vision for a sustainable clothing label with no name recognition, no visual language, and no digital home. The sustainable fashion space in Australia is increasingly competitive, with consumers growing more discerning about authenticity and greenwashing. Building a brand that could genuinely stand out required more than a nice logo.
The key challenges Ivara Innovation was tasked to solve:
- No existing brand identity: The visual language, tone of voice, and positioning all needed to be created from scratch
- Standing out authentically in a crowded sustainable fashion market.
- Translating the tactile, natural quality of organic textiles into a compelling digital experience
- Developing a brand strategy that could support long-term growth and community building in the Australian market
- Designing a website that balanced visual storytelling with e-commerce functionality and brand education
- Creating a cohesive brand system flexible enough to span product tags, packaging, social media, and web
Our Approach
Ivara Innovation approached the Loomaama project as a brand-building partnership, not a production task. Every decision from colour palette to content hierarchy was grounded in Loomaama’s core values and the people it aims to serve.
Phase 1: Discovery & Brand Strategy
- Conducted in-depth brand discovery sessions to uncover Loomaama’s purpose, values, and long-term vision
- Researched the Australian sustainable fashion landscape, identifying key competitors, white spaces, and audience insights
- Defined Loomaama’s brand positioning: premium-feel organic clothing for intentional, everyday living
- Developed the brand’s tone of voice (warm, grounded, honest, and quietly confident)
- Created a full brand strategy document covering mission, vision, audience personas, messaging pillars, and competitive differentiation
Phase 2: Brand Identity & Logo Design
- Explored multiple creative directions before arriving at a visual identity rooted in natural textures, organic form, and earthy warmth
- Designed a primary logo system including main logo, secondary mark, and favicon — all crafted to work across print, digital, and packaging
- Developed a cohesive colour palette inspired by raw hemp fibre, sun-dried cotton, and Australian soil tones
- Selected a typographic system pairing Work sans with a Inter for versatility and brand character
- Produced a comprehensive brand guidelines document covering logo usage, colour codes, typography, photography style, and do’s and don’ts
- Applied the identity across brand collateral including swing tags, tote bag mockups, and social media templates
Phase 3: Website Design & UI
- Developed the full website architecture and user journey mapping, prioritising storytelling alongside product discovery
- Designed a UI system in line with the brand identity — natural textures, whitespace, and earthy tones creating a calm, premium feel
- Created key page designs including Home, About, Our Story, Shop with specific product details, Sustainability, and Contact
- Built mobile-first responsive layouts ensuring a seamless experience across all devices
- Incorporated brand storytelling elements — material sourcing transparency, sustainability credentials, and founder narrative
- Designed an e-commerce friendly website, with product grid, filtering, and cart UI components ready for development handoff
